Flutter Wind-Tunnel Test, 25/7/2017

In this experiment, the wing was tested at the flutter speed. The weight connected at the wing-tip trailing-edge serves as a mechanism to stop flutter – At flutter onset, due to the excessive vibrations, the weight flies off of the wing, increasing the flutter speed and effectively stopping the flutter.

Measured data includes accelerations from four accelerometers and strains from 10 uni-axial strain-gauges. See XX for details of the measurement setup.
