Flutter Wind-Tunnel Test, 25/7/2017

In this experiment, the wing was tested at the flutter speed. The weight connected at the wing-tip trailing-edge serves as a mechanism to stop flutter – At flutter onset, due to the excessive┬ávibrations, the weight flies off of the wing, increasing the flutter speed and effectively stopping the flutter.

Measured data includes accelerations from four accelerometers and strains from 10 uni-axial strain-gauges. See XX for details of the measurement setup.
